For the last 20 years, we’ve been talking about how AgTech can transform farming and generate billions or even trillions of dollars in value across the agrifood value chain. However, like cold fusion, hoverboards, and Martian colonies, the promise remains tantalisingly out of reach.

Farmers have been telling us the reason for a long time—a lack of trust. They’re hesitant to share their data with third parties due to concerns about misuse and unauthorised sharing.

We’re working to change this by developing an independent, trustless data network called Mycelium. Put simply, Mycelium is an EFTPOS-like network for ag data. Data is encrypted by the creator and uploaded to the network, where it can be verified, queried, or even analysed by third-party apps or d-apps, without the risk of being exposed or replicated.

Our vision is to become invisible—so trusted that farmers don’t have to think about data security. Our goal is to enable everyone across the agrifood value chain, from farmers to consumers, to stop talking about the future of agriculture and start living it.
