Rocket Seeder is extremely pleased to welcome Amanda Goddard to its Board of Directors.

Amanda brings a deep understanding of business strategy, marketing, innovation and research, with a unique blend of specialisations in agriculture, finance and startups.

The Queensland-based chartered accountant has spent 15 years at KPMG, including roles as an external auditor, business development manager, and five years as the Associate Director of AgTech, working across digital innovation and market and business strategy.

Amanda has supported stakeholders across Australia’s AgTech sector and innovation ecosystem including industry bodies, agribusinesses, and government, as well as mentoring startups.

“I’m passionate about contributing to the Australian agriculture industry and the developing agtech market,” Amanda said. “I know the team at Rocket Seeder well and love the work they are doing supporting startups in agtech, providing a pipeline to turn ideas into viable commercial solutions.”

Rocket Seeder Managing Director Emma Coath says it’s rare to find someone with Amanda’s combination of experience across finance, startups and agriculture.

“Amanda’s experiences as an external auditor and accountant with years spent working in agriculture and the nuanced world of startups is invaluable,” Emma said.

“And being based in Brisbane aligns with our national expansion, to support startups in food and agriculture across the country.”

Rocket Seeder is Australia’s pre-eminent non-profit accelerator program and is currently delivering its AgTech Seeds program in Victoria, supporting early-stage founders and researchers to develop solutions to global challenges facing agriculture and food production. Work is underway to expand AgTech Seeds to a national program, rolling out in states across the country.

Progress also continues on the second series of Rocket Seeder’s program to nurture startups tackling food waste issues, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 which aims to half global food waste by 2030.

Rocket Seeder Chair Toni Cody said Amanda was a welcome addition to the Rocket Seeder team.

“We look forward to Amanda adding valuable financial auditing skills to what is an extremely well connected, experienced board,” Toni said.

“Amanda’s addition to the team will certainly contribute to the expected growth for Rocket Seeder in the coming years.”
